Toothless!
The Real "Shock and Awe"

I had my front tooth knocked out back in '02, and no thanks to Alice, she took the only photo that exists of me without my tooth.

For this and many other "shocking" photos, feel free to visit my online photo album.

Scorecard Complete!

Amazingly enough, God has helped my client and me to complete the 10-P scorecard today. The one thing that is by far the most daunting physically-tangible deliverable is actually done! Mad props to J.C. ;^)

What was especially cool is that Brett did a spiel (btw… shouldn’t “spiel” be spelled “shpiel” because of the “sh” sound in the word!?) on your business being your household, and being called to first to serve your business/household just as you would serve in church (1 Timothy 3:5).

I actually heard it all before during the Equip training session, but hearing it again, especially right now as I’m currently starting to think through how God is talking to me about all the various aspects of my own life, it definitely spoke to me quite a bit.

And what was really cool is how it was equally speaking to my client. We had a really good discussion and time of prayer afterwards… and speaking of my client, he and his wife invited Ryan, Nancy, Jeremy and myself over for dinner last night to a house where they’re housesitting right now… the house was absolutely beautiful and the food was incredible. But as the six of us were there, talking and sharing our lives with each other over dinner, I thought (and am still thinking) it was really incredible that God has brought people, who come from opposite ends of the earth, together to share with one another, and that we be able to understand each other’s concerns, passions and desires for life in living out the will of God. It was a true testament to how there is one God that is truly omnipresence.

Also, yesterday we were able to visit Parliament… and it was incredible to learn about the South African government and politics. They truly have a very advanced and complex democratic system that really amazes me. We got to sit in on a session (think CSPAN, except with a lot more diversity), and it was awesome to see the democratic process at work in such a young government (incidentally, their constitution was just ratified in 1996).

And before Parliament, we stopped by Green Market Square (pictured), a flea market just outside of parliament where you can get all sorts of authentic (and probably unauthentic) African souvenirs and artifacts.

Ok, now that I’ve blogged completely in backwards order, let’s go forwards… tomorrow, I’ll be working with my client to work on a presentation he will be giving to the entire group on Friday, and thus on Friday, it’s a full day of client presentations and a ton of prayer.

Praises: The scorecard is complete! And that I’m seeing so much of God in almost every aspect of this trip.

Requests: Some new as well as some old prayer requests for my client resurfaced the past few days… it was good that my client and I were able to spend time praying for it… but please keep him and his company in your prayers. Also, that God would continue to minister to me, in showing me what He wants me to see from all this. Basically (more imagery here…), I know God’s talking and I can hear Him speaking, but to me it sounds all mumbly and I can’t really understand or comprehend.
